In Paul’s second letter he summoned Timothy on four different occasions, “But as for you,” pointing directly at him, calling him out to be a different kind of pastor. He was not to yield to the pressures of public opinion or conform to the spirit of his age, but to stand firm in the truth and righteousness of God. He challenged Timothy to be strong, brave and steadfast—to guard, suffer for, continue in, and proclaim the Word of God. The church has need for men who will pass it on, pure and uncorrupted, to the generation who would rise up and follow.
I believe in the power of God’s Word to change the lives of those earnestly committed to Christ, and in the ministry of the Body to adequately equip God’s people for the work of the ministry. Understanding the priority of evangelism for the individual believer, and the common testimony of the church to its community as it functions in unity to complete the things of God, it is our privilege as believers to live for Him and proclaim the Good News, all for His glory.
I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1973 while attending Grace Community Church, in Sun Valley, CA. I married my wife Gloria in 1976 and have raised two daughters, Katie and Krista, all who love the Lord and enjoy serving in His church. Graduating from Los Angeles Baptist College in 1985, we have participated in various ministries over the years, and after returning for graduate studies at The Master’s Seminary the Lord led us to serve at Provo Bible Church in the fall of 2012.
